Tape It with some Fall Flair

It is hard to believe it is Labor Day weekend, and Fall will be here before we know it.  The leaves will be changing color and sweater weather will be upon us.  That is what I was thinking when I created this card.

I stamped the hounds tooth and chevron patterned stamps from the Tape It stamp set in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla card stock several times.  I cut them out with my Paper Snips, then attached them to a layer of Early Espresso card stock.  Next, I ran this card stock through the Big Shot machine with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I just love the texture this embossing folder gives the background of this card, don't you?  I attached the Early Espresso to the Cajun Craze card front, then added the other stamped images and embellishments.

I also used the new Magnificent Maple stamp and the Chalk Talk stamp set to make this card.  The Magnificent Maple was stamped with Cajun Craze ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with my paper snips.  The "For You" sentiment from the Chalk Talk stamp set was inked in Early Espresso ink and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock then punched out with our 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

I layered two buttons for the embellishment on the front of the card.  I tied some Early Espresso Baker's Twine through the holes of one of the Very Vintage Designer Buttons, then layered this button on top of one of our Naturals Designer Buttons.  I attached the two buttons together with 2 Mini Glue Dots.  I added 3 Cajun Craze Candy Dots from the Regals Candy Dots in the lower right corner to finish it off.

You can order all of the supplies I used for this card at http://nancyamato.stampinup.net.  Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Quick and Simple Tape It Card

I needed a quick Thank You card, and this stamp set let me create one in under 20 minutes.  I started with a card base of Strawberry Slush and punched a small butterfly in Strawberry Slush with our Bitty Butterfly punch.  I stamped several different patterns from the Tape It stamp set in Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Baked Brown Sugar.  I stamped the sentiment in StazOn Black ink onto Whisper White, then punched it out with the Label Bracket Punch.  I backed it with an Extra-Large Oval punched in Basic Black card stock.  The sentiment is from the Best of Greetings stamp set -- you can order this set through March, 2014.

Best of Greetings  #133485  $14.95 Clear Mount Only
I wrapped some Whisper White Baker's Twine around the butterfly and tied a knot at the top.  Trimming the Baker's Twine near the not made perfect antennae, don't you think?  Stampin' Dimensionals attached the punched elements together and to the card front.  I even used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the Basic Black layer to the Strawberry Slush card.  I love my Stampin' Dimensionals!

And there you have it -- a quick and easy card in under 20 minutes.  You could change the sentiment and make this card as a birthday, get well, or just a "hello" card too!  I hope you like it and be sure to come back tomorrow for another project featuring the Tape It stamp set.  Have a great day!

Another Tape It Project

Hello!  I hope everyone had a great 1st day of school!  I saw my niece this morning and she was so excited and happy to show me her new backpack and water bottle.  Such a cutie-pie!

New stamp sets make me happy, and the "Tape It" stamp set is no exception.

This card uses the chevron stamp to make a background for the "hello, you" sentiment.  I stamped this image several times in Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pacific Point on Whisper White card stock.  I used my Paper Snips to cut out each strip, then attached them to another piece of Whisper White card stock.  I alternated the direction of the chevron and the color of the strips to create the pattern you see in the photo.

I used the Ovals Framelits Dies to create an oval card with the large, scallop oval framelit.  Just use a piece of card stock with a fold at the top.  Make sure the fold is on the inside of the oval framelit when you run it through the Big Shot machine.  This will give you a folded, oval card base.  Next, cut another single oval with the same framelit.  This piece will be attached to the oval card base to make an oval card.

I used a smaller oval framelit die to cut a hole in the center of the card front.  I attached the chevron stamped piece of Whisper White behind the scallop oval and then attached both to the front of the card base.

I just love to use our Paper Piercer and Piercing Templates to add that special touch -- it only takes a few seconds and it really makes a difference in the appearance of the card.  Real Red Candy Dots and a 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon Bow finish it  off.

See you soon with another project featuring the "Tape It" stamp set.  Have a great day!

Tape It

Washi tape is a hot paper-crafting item right now, and the Stampin' Up! "Tape It" stamp set is right on trend.  This stamp set is fun to use, and the projects I will be sharing with you in the next few days show its versatility.

This card uses the new Smoky Slate card stock and ink.  I just L-O-V-E this new color:  the perfect neutral that pairs well with so many of our Stampin' Up! colors.  My color scheme is Whisper White, Smoky Slate, and Summer Starfruit.    Quick and easy card!

RemARKable Best of 25 Years Blog Tour

Hello and welcome to the latest RemARKable Blog Tour!  I just love seeing all of the fabulous ideas these ladies come up with each month, don't you?  This month we will be featuring the Best of Shelli stamp set.

Best of Shelli
#133488  $14.95  Clear Mount Only
My little great-niece celebrated her first birthday this weekend, so I had the perfect opportunity to play with some brand new products when I made her card.

I used the stacked presents stamp from the Best of Shelli Stamp Set for the front of the card.  I colored the gifts with Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit Stampin' Write Markers.  I chose these colors to coordinate with the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper.

This card was made with the new Circle Card Thinlits.  I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these new dies.  Before, it used to take a long time, multiple measurements, and positioning the top cutting plate in just the right place in order to get a card that moves like this.  No more --- now it is easy peasy to make this fun fold card.  Plus, it comes with lots of extras that you can use to make fun projects.  (I will include the You Tube video at the end of this post so you can see how quick and easy it is to use these dies!)

Circle Card Thinlits Dies
#133480  $32.95

I also used my new Envelope Liners Framelits Dies to line the envelope with some of the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper.  It really gives a nice, coordinated look to the envelope, doesn't it?

The Envelope Liners Framelits Dies are in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Here is what they look like:

Envelope Liners Framelits Dies
#132172  $26.95
Of course, I had to put some "bling" on this card because every girl (even one-year-olds!) love a little "bling!"  I used our Silver Glimmer Paper to cut out the "1" and the Modern Label Punch.  It gives just the right amount of shimmer and shine.

The "yay" and the Scallop Circle was part of the Circle Card Thinlits Dies.  You get lots of little extras with the Circle Card Thinlits Dies!

Now, it is time to see what Melissa Bollinger has created!

Here is the You Tube video Stampin' Up! made showing how easy it is to use the new Thinlits Dies!

Isn't my great-niece just the cutest baby?  Here she is all ready to eat her cake.  My niece stripped her down to her onesie and a bib since she loves to eat and she was sure the cake would be a hit!  Well........

NOT SO MUCH!  She was not a fan of getting dirty to eat her cake.  She is a little lady and prefers to use a spoon.
We only let her cry long enough to get a photo for her baby book, then Daddy fed her some of her
delicious cake while Mommy held her.

Quick & Easy Candy Treat

We made this quick and easy candy treat at my Christmas In July class.  This is the perfect little party favor for a neighborhood get-together, the kiddos' holiday party at school, or for your hard-working mail carrier, recycling and trash collectors, and your UPS driver.  (Believe me, my UPS driver gets a workout with some of my Stampin' Up! orders -- those boxes can get heavy!)

I found Red and Green mints at my local Giant grocery store for $1/bag, and I stocked up so I could make these treats and have them ready for the holidays.  (I am usually a "Last-Minute Lucy" but I promised myself that I would do as much as possible this summer so I could actually ENJOY the holidays this year, and I am determined to stick to it!)  The other supplies came from Stampin' Up! -- woohoo!  Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps:
