RemARKable Stampers Blog Tour: Goodbyes Are Hard
Hello, and welcome to this month's blog tour! Our theme this month is "Goodbyes Are Hard." The Stampin' Up! retiring list has been posted, and I will be saying goodbye to some of my favorite stamp sets. But, I know lots of fun, new stamp sets will be taking their place! (Yep -- I have seen the new catalog, and it is gorgeous!)
So, saying goodbye can mean different things to different people: sympathy cards, moving cards, retirement cards, etc. I decided to create a sympathy card for my project.
A family friend recently passed away, and he just loved the beach. In fact, he, his wife, and a few family members made the 3-hour trip to Ocean City just days before he died. So, when I thought about him, I knew exactly what stamps I would use for a sympathy card for his family.
Two of the stamp sets are on the retiring list: By The Seashore and Love & Sympathy. Being a Maryland girl, I just love the images in By The Seashore, especially the crab. I stamped the crab and starfish with Lost Lagoon ink onto Whisper White card stock and then "fussy cut" them out with our fabulous Paper Snips. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach them to the front of the card to give it a little pop.
I used the Hardwood stamp (NOT retiring -- Yay!) with Crumb Cake ink stamped on Whisper White card stock to get the weathered boardwalk look.
Here is the inside of the card:
I used a piece of Linen Thread to tie a bow around the fold of the card to add a finishing touch. Here are the supplies I used to create this card:
I hope you enjoyed this card, and I hope it brings comfort to the recipients.
Now, it is time to see what Missy Bolinger has created this month. I know it will be RemARKable!

Bunches of Butterflies
I don't know about you, but I love butterflies! So, you can only imagine how excited I was to see the Butterflies Thinlits in the Occasions Catalog. They are so delicate and just beautiful!
Have you ever wondered what approximately 350 butterflies looks like? Well, here it is.....
And, they all fit inside a gallon ziplock bag! As many of you know, I have a special place in my heart for the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Well, the theme for this year's Cancer Survivor Celebration involves butterflies. So, I have been cutting out butterflies like a crazy woman -- LOL! We are using different colors of card stock to coordinate with the colors representing different types of cancer. I cannot wait to see what the ladies in the Survivor Services Department do with them. They are so talented, and I know they will make beautiful decorations! This is the first batch I delivered last week, and I am using my Big Shot and the Butterflies Thinlits to cut even more. I will be sure to share photos from the Survivor Celebration in June.
Off to cut some more butterflies,
