GBMC Cancer Survivor Celebration!
Yesterday marked the 24th Annual Survivor Celebration at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. This annual celebration is held every June, and is a special day for patients, staff, and family to celebrate Cancer Survivors and their caregivers.
This year's theme was "metamorphosis and transformation" and the image of the butterfly was used to represent the change that occurs in each cancer patient as they journey on their path to fight cancer.
I was so excited to hear about this year's theme earlier this Spring. The Occasions Mini Catalog had just launched, and I could not wait to show the employees at the Oncology Support Services Department the Butterfly Thinlits. They loved them, too!
So, we began cutting out butterflies several weeks ago. I even wrote a short blog post about it here. It was truly a group effort to cut out all of those butterflies, and I was happy to contribute to it. The real magic happened once Landri and Felicity worked to make their vision take shape.
The decorations they created with these butterflies were breath-taking! The photos just cannot capture the beauty of the conference center -- it, too, was transformed. The employees of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute did a magnificent job with this event.
The Celebration included

The Celebration included
- Great music by patients, family and staff
- Wonderful music from the children of Clef
- Lots of yummy food
- An inspiring guest speaker who was a young adult cancer patient at GBMC
- A beautiful multimedia presentation featuring photography of a survivor's son set to original music written by a friend
- Beautiful bouquets of flowers to honor survivors and their caregivers
- Surprising Dr. Cohen with the Making A Difference Award and hearing him speak on the new developments in cancer research
- Dr. Cohen's impromptu performance of "Brown Eyed Girl" with his new guitar
- Door prizes
- Fellowship and friendship of patients, family, and staff -- it was a wonderful day!

RemARKable Stampers Blog Tour: Going Places
Hello, and welcome to the RemARKable Stampers Blog Tour! Our theme this month is "Going Places."
Many people say that making masculine-looking cards is a challenge, so I decided to give it a try with a fun fold I recently found on Pinterest (Thanks, Di Barnes). I pulled my World Map, Traveler, and Guy Greetings stamp sets and started creating! Here is what I came up with:
The fun fold is called the Pop-Out Book Card, and it is really much easier than it looks. I just taught it to my Stamp Club ladies today, and they loved it!
I used Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon, and Very Vanilla card stock and some of the brand-spankin' new Bohemian Designer Series Paper. I stamped with Blackberry Bliss and Delightful Dijon ink. The Blackberry Bliss ink on the Rich Razzleberry card stock really made the images pop.
We made a custom envelope since this card measures 5 1/2 x
5 1/2 inches. It was easy with our Envelope Punch Board. A train stamped on the front of our custom envelope coordinates with the train images on the card.
Here are the supplies I used for this project:
I hope you enjoyed this project. Now, it is time to see what Melissa Bolinger created!

Back to blogging....
I am sorry I have been absent from my blog. My cousin died tragically, and it has been a busy time for my family. I will return to regular blog posts on Sunday, June 7.
Thank you for your understanding, Stamping Friends.
