Let me tell you, there are SO many new stamp sets, framelits, punches, embellishments, paper, ink and tools! But, the one bundle that caught my attention is the Jar Of Love bundle. It is even featured on the catalog cover!
Jar of Love Stamp Set + Everyday Jars Framelits Dies Catalog #142342 $52.00 |
I knew this set would make so many fun cards, and I used it for one of my Stamp Club projects today. We made a shaker card with the cute little fireflies (or "lightening bugs" as we call them in Baltimore). What do you think?
This card is so cute, and really not hard to put together. We used Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and Basic Gray Archival ink. Our new Foam Adhesive Strips make shaker cards a breeze! The framelits made cutting everything a snap -- we cut the lid, the bow, and the inside of the jar out in one pass in the Big Shot machine.
We colored the fireflies with a Daffodil Delight marker, and added a little sparkle to their wings with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush. (It is hard to capture the sparkle with my cell phone camera, but maybe you can see a little bit below.)
One tip I can pass along to you is to lightly rub an embossing buddy along the inside edges of the Foam Adhesive Strips to eliminate the "sticky" so your fireflies do not stick to it. One Foam Adhesive strip will be more than enough to go around the jar. You even have about an inch leftover that you can use to pop up the Daffodil Delight bow in the front.
Here is the inside of the card:
I hope you enjoyed this card! Now, it is time to see what Melissa Bolinger has created this month. Just click here to visit her blog.
Happy Stamping,
Love your card, Nancy! I get my Jar of Love Bundle tomorrow and now that i have seen your card I am even more excited to get it! Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteNancy, this is so stinkin' cute! We don't have any lightning bugs in Hawaii but I have fond memories of watching my children chase them through the park in DC many years ago. Thanks for sharing.
