RemARKable Stampers Pinworthy Blog Tour: New Beginnings

Hello, and welcome to the RemARKable Stampers Pinworthy Blog Tour.  Our theme this month is "New Beginnings."  I was thinking about all of the "New Beginnings" we have in life:
new babies, marriages, new homes, new school year, new friends, etc.  I also wanted to use some NEW stamps from the Holiday Mini Catalog since I just received my Holiday Catalog pre-order merchandise this week!  (smile -- consider this a sneak peek of the gorgeous Holiday Catalog that goes live on August 28!)

So, I decided to make a New Home card for a friend who recently moved:

I loved creating it, and it has lots of layers (so that makes me happy!).  I wanted to get the look of a 6-panel front door, so I used Sahara Sand ink to stamp the Hardwood stamp on Sahara Sand card stock. The "door" is 3 3/4" x 5", and the panels are 1" x 1 1/2" (4 lower panels) and 1" x 1" (2 upper panels). I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the panels to the door.  The "doorknob" is made with one of our Vintage Brads.  I cut the feet off of a Vintage Brad and then attached it to the "door" with a Stampin' Dimensional.

I wanted to create a Fall wreath for the door, and the Wondrous Wreath Bundle is a great stamp set that you can use to create all kinds of wreaths -- it is NOT just for Christmas! You can bundle this stamp set with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and save 15%.  This bundle is featured in the Holiday Mini catalog.

I used Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, and Blackberry Bliss ink to create the wreath.  And cutting it out was easy-peasy with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.  I cut the sewn edge off of 10" of our Burlap Ribbon, then pulled out some long threads and made a bow out of 4 threads.  A glue dot attached the bow to the wreath.

I was on a roll, so I thought about adding some pumpkins to the corner.  The pumpkins are from the Fall Fest stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  This stamp set can be bundled with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies and you can save 15%!  I used Tangelo Twist to ink the pumpkin stamps, then cut them out with the framelits.  I used the fine point of the Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Marker to color the stems after stamping.  Once again, Stampin' Dimensionals were used to attach them to the front of the "door."

I layered the "door" onto some Blackberry Bliss, then attached it to the Hello Honey card front.  I added some leaf images from the Fall Fest stamp set on the inside of the card, too. The greeting came from the new Holiday Home stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.  I cannot wait to create more with this fun set!

Now, it is time to see what Missy Bolinger has created for us this month.  Missy has a brand-new blog (woohoo!) -- click here http://creativeblessingsbymissy.blogspot.com/2014/08/remarkable-pinworthy-blog-tour-new.html
